Energy Efficiency Grants for SMEs in Leicester & Leicestershire
Energy Efficiency Green BELLE Grant Available to Leicestershire and Leicester Based Businesses.
If you’re an SME in Leicestershire, then the chances are you will qualify for an energy efficiency grant, allowing you to reduce your energy costs and lower your carbon emissions. Grants of between £1,000 and £10,000 are available until 2019, on a first-come first-served basis. The grant is available as 50% match funding, so you would be required to invest half of the money yourself.
The primary criteria for the Green BELLE grant is that the measures you propose to undertake will reduce carbon emissions and increase energy efficiency. These measures could include:
- Energy efficient heating systems and controls
- Low energy lighting and controls
- Renewable energy systems
- Innovative low carbon measures, such as heat recovery systems.
To find out whether you could benefit from this scheme, all you need to do to start with is submit an enquiry. This will be followed up with a site visit to assess what energy efficiency measure might be suitable for your business premises. Once you’re given this information in a report, and have had your eligibility confirmed, you can get quotes from suppliers and make your full grant application.
The Green BELLE grant encourages innovative projects and those which lead to larger energy savings. Depending on your premises, the following measures could be suitable for you:
- Energy Storage
- Solar Panels
- Loft Insulation
- Heating Controls
- Lighting Controls
- Efficient Machinery
- Biomass Boilers
- Wall Insulation
- Heat Pumps
- Building Management Systems

“We’re really pleased with the website Mulberry Square created for us. The design and ease of navigation are great, and the fact that we can easily update it ourselves is just what we needed.”
