Head of Safety Services appointment for the University of Sheffield
Michael was appointed as interim ‘Head of Safety Services’ for the University of Sheffield for the first half of 2012.
This interim head of department role proved to be both challenging and rewarding, with contributions being made in a large number of health, safety and management areas. Michael sat on a number of Key Risk Review Groups (KRRG), charged with driving forward safety improvements throughout the University. In particular, the Health and Safety Training programme at the University was overhauled and the Fire Risk Assessment programme has received a significant amount of attention and improvement.
Since the end of this interim post, Michael has worked with the new Head of Department and done further work for the University: reviewing the Control of Contractors and proposing a programme of improvements in this area.
